Using hashtags on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn is an extremely useful tactic to attract new people to your profile. As you research hashtags to include on your social media profiles, here are a few tips.
Only use a few POPULAR hashtags with 1M and more posts. Highly used hashtags have longer staying power, meaning likes are more likely to occasionally drip onto your post over time as people continue to use these tried-and-true hashtags.
Include less used (1,000 to 1M) hashtags to find more targeted users. Currently trending hashtags that are not over-saturated are very useful for quick bursts of engagement.
Don’t rely on lists like these exclusively! They are very handy for the bulk of your keywords, but do additional research.
Look up the hashtags that you use to make sure your posts make sense in the collection (and double check that your posts are not bundled with other posts using the hashtag that you DON’T want to be associated with).
As you look up the hashtags that you want to use, go to top posts for the hashtags. Check to see if there are other, less common hashtags that those influencers are using and you could benefit from.
